Culture Fest Brings Vibrancy and Spirit to Kinkaid

Across Falcon Green, colorful booths decorated with cultural items and foods call out to passersby to "visit their country” at the annual Kinkaid Culture Fest.

This all-school celebration is a time for community members to pick a country to learn about and present. It is also a completely student-led event, as the Culture Fest Committee handles event setup, entertainment and other facets of the campus spectacle.

Kinkaid implements affinity groups as a way to foster dialogue

Given the racial tensions that have arisen over the past year, Kinkaid has taken various measures to create an inclusive environment for all students.The English curriculum was altered and both a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion council for parents and a student-led Diversity Leadership Board were created. One of the most recent measures the school has implemented is hosting bimonthly affinity groups throughout the Upper School.
